The technologies of mobile communication fast develop and distribute in modern society. Wide distribution of mobile phones and distance education technology. Mobiles phones have an intrinsic social impact by the way the technologies emphasize portability and constant communication.
The main aim of this project is the usability of mobiles phones among students, the uses of mobiles are E-learning, mobile GPRS, wap, web browsers, SMS and MMS. This study investigated motivations of usage, common usage scenarios and the attitude towards mobile phones among students. In this project sample size is 100 and Random sampling techniques is using. Questioner also preparing for this project.
In the past few decades there has been a revolution in computing and communications, and all indications are that technological progress and use of information technology will continue at a rapid pace. Accompanying and supporting the dramatic increases in the power and use of new information technologies has been the declining cost of communications as a result of both technological improvements and increased competition. According to Moore's law the processing power of microchips is doubling every 18 months. These advances present many significant opportunities but also pose major challenges. Today, innovations in information technology are having wide-ranging effects across numerous domains of society, and policy makers are acting on issues involving economic productivity, intellectual property rights, privacy protection, and affordability of and access to information. Choices made now will have long lasting consequences, and attention must be paid to their social and economic impacts. One of the most significant outcomes of the progress of information technology is probably electronic commerce over the Internet, a new way of conducting business. Though only a few years old, it may radically alter economic activities and the social environment. Already, it affects such large sectors as communications, finance and retail trade and might expand to areas such as education and health services. It implies the seamless application of information and communication technology along the entire value chain of a business that is conducted electronically. People often think mobile or wireless technologies are the same as mobile wireless technologies. Strictly speaking, mobile wireless technologies are different from mobile or wireless technologies simply because not all mobile technologies are wireless nor are all wireless technologies mobile. Mobile wireless technologies consist of two aspects—mobility and computing. They claimed that mobile computing represents users’ continuous access to network resources without limitation of time and location. Wireless means that transmission of any form of data—text, voice, video or image—is conducted through radio waves,infrared waves or microwaves rather than using wires. Therefore, mobile wireless technologies is defined as any wireless technology that uses radio frequency spectrum in any band to facilitate transmission of text data, voice, video, or multimedia services to mobile devices with freedom of time and location limitation. The freedom of time and location is related to the concept of anytime and anywhere access that represents the two main characteristics of mobile wireless technologies—mobility and reachability . Mobile wireless technologies use public stations—antennas—or Wireless Access Points (WAPs) that are connected to wired-network in a building or public area to give a way of access for web resources and communication for mobile wireless technologies users. With mobile wireless network or service in mobile wireless devices, users can access network information anytime, anywhere.
