Life is all about decisions. No matter how big or small, those decisions will affect the direction of one’s life. However, decisions, especially important ones, must be well thought out, otherwise, regret and/or sorrow will follow. There is no going back on already made decisions and there is no “fixing” them either. Teenagers are known to make dumb decisions. Fortunately, independent decision making is all a part of growing up. However, as a teenager, it seems hopeless sometimes and I question if the decisions I make are the right ones. After reading The 6 Most Important Decisions You’ll Ever Make I think I have taken a step in the right direction. The six major points in the novel: friends, school, parents, addictions, dating and sex, and yourself seemed logical and they helped to alter my view on life and the decisions I will have to make in the future.…

Initially, I had a negative view on group working because of the challenges that I had. When I was in high school, my five other friends and I used to work together in a music competition. Although we were supposed to get together to practice for the event, we were only able to meet up once a week. In addition to having a hard time with time scheduling, we often did not have a consensus of opinion. Whenever we had a discussion, we usually ended up with no results. So it always took a long time for us to make a decision. Consequently, the performance did not turn out as well as we expected. Because of this initial failure, I thought group work was time consuming and ineffective. However, I have changed my opinion lately because of the successful results in some of my laboratory classes. In each laboratory assignment, it is nearly impossible to work by myself because there are a lot of steps and each step needs to be very precise and accurate. Therefore, a group of two or three students will work more effectively compared to an individual because they can help to remind each other and finish the assignment faster. Based on those experiences, one more time I give myself a chance to work in a group and figured out how work effectively. Finally, thank to the Small group communication class, I found out that group work can become very productive if all the members in the group cooperate and follow the principles of small group communication. In this paper, I want to talk…
Working as a team allows the workload to be shared, giving the advantage that some members wont have to do more work than another. When there is a group of people working on the same job, it is common that each member will work more effectively as they are supported throughout their specific task. A massive benefit of having more people working on the same task is that ones weakness may be another’s strength; this allows the team be outcome of the job to be of the highest standards.…

When effective group management and high organisation skills are applied, group work can bring students a wide range of skills and abilities related to people and problem solving. Group work demonstrates student’s capacity to communicate effectively, share and consider opinions, establish trust, analyse the group process, resolve conflicts and also develop their creativity. However, the constructive learning and beneficial results does not always come as a result of group work. For instance, if the students can not perceive the objective of the group work in order to achieve a common goal, or to lay back or believe that the work load can be relied on other members of…
It can develop up various factors. Working as a team could improve the motivation with members of the group because other members may see that others are interested in what’s going on in the task that they may feel like contributing. Creative members may find other ways to complete the task quicker. Some members also may feel interested in completing the task and moving on to the next one to improve their work further and learn from their previous mistakes. Members in the group can learn from one other. The team will be taking responsibility for meeting the goals and target settings, members will also be sharing their experiences and…
Another benefit of group work is the increased likelihood of catching errors. At one time or another, we all make stupid mistakes, like the man who built a boat in his basement and then wasn’t able to get it out the door. Working in a group increases the chance that foolish errors like this won’t slip by. Sometimes, of course, errors aren’t so obvious, which makes groups even more valuable as an error-checking mechanism. Another side to the error-detecting story is the risk that group members will support each other in a bad idea.…
I believe that it is a good idea to work as a team because, everybody has different ideas so there will be a lot of varied input. There is more support for each other because the workload is shared. It gives people the opportunity to use their skills to their best potential, and allows you to learn about each others strengths and weakness. It also gives you motivation to achieve your goals as a team, while also learning to interact with your peers.…
The college years are a time of growing independence for every college student. Freshman’s have to make decisions that will change the person they are now and mold them to be the person that they will become after college. During college, students learn to manage their time and practice different methods that make their lives easier. They realize that their decisions can make them suffer because of limitations. This is why some college students have a difficult time deciding whether they want to stay at home with parents or alone. Most students choose to move out so that they can develop their independence and responsibility by being alone in an apartment. Other students select to stay home because the cost of living at home is less expensive for them than the cost of staying alone renting an apartment. Therefore it may seem like staying alone in an apartment has more benefits at first, but in the long run, living at home can have more advantages.…
Even though I have some shortcoming, team working can help me to reduce my problem. Sharing ideas and opinion, it can rich our topic. We can together to assign our work and each part rationally. In addition, I can interest to join in our discussion about our aspect. This can help me to find weak point to improve my…
There are many things that can be done by people who make an important decision in group. However, some people like to make an important decision alone. Therefore, this essay shall explore some reasons why a person should never make an important decision alone.…
On the bright side, the supporters of self-study have a thought that studying alone benefits students in terms of becoming more concentrative as well as more independent. To begin with, it has been proven to be true that self-study helps students find essential silence to get high concentration. As the master of fact, when students study independently, there is no one can disturb them so that they usually focus on their lessons. For example, anyone who study alone at home doesn’t meet friends to talk about irrelevant matters such as an upcoming performance of a rock star that might make students tend to lose their attention. In addition, it is also evident that learners who are self-study, are more independent than others. As far as I am concerned, when nobody can help, it has better to do it myself. For instance, in the face of not understanding their lesson, students learning alone manage to achieve knowledge by themselves through finding source of books in the library or looking up information on the internet. This proves that they are more active in their studying.…
It goes without saying that how to make a decision is always an issue of much controversy. Some people claim that one should never make an important decision alone, while others believe that it is not true. My opinion is that it is always beneficial to consult other people such as family, relatives, friends or colleagues before making any decision. My view is based on the following reasons.…
