A Mothers Love
A mother’s love is like no other love on earth, and can make a person do things
Everyone else and even she did not expect her to be able to do. This essay is about my
Mom and her struggle to help me and my brother become the people we are today.
Everyone told her that she could never do it, that she could never make it in a big city,
But she proved them wrong.
My moms name is Marcia Tula, she was born in Santiago, Chile. She and my
Grandma lived there until my mom was 16. After that my grandpa decided to move to
Ecuador where my mom met my dad Gonzalo Martinez. My dad was very in to the party
Scean and so was my mom until at the age of 18 my mom got pregnant with my brother
Roberto Martinez. Once my mom gave birth she slowed her life down and everything
Changed because now she was a mother.
My dad loved her very much but they were both young and my dad was still
Immature so he kept on with his party life. One Day my father got in a terrible car
Accident and broke every bone in his face because of a drunk driver, but my mom loved
Him and stuck by his side regardless. My mom tried to make her marriage work and
stuck With my dad during his party life. At 21 my mom got pregnant once again and gave
birth To me. My dad slowed down a bit after the accident and but he never completely
gave Up the party life.
After a while my mom decided she wouldn’t put up with my dad’s life stile any
Longer, so they split up and my mom decided to come live in the USA with me and
Roberto, leaving everything she knew behind. My grandma had previously moved to
Los Angeles, California after my grandpa passed away so we had a place to stay. My
Mom began working at a telemarketing company called Lexicon, where she started off as
A receptionist. She did a great job and made friends quick. Her managers thought the
World of her and she won awards for her great work with the company.
Every day she would take 3 buses to get to work and 3 buses to get back to the
House. She was relentless in her efforts to get us out of the bad neighborhood we lived in
So she worked extra hours and longer nights than anybody else in the company. After a
Long time she saved up money to buy a car and finally she could drive to work. A couple
Months later her manager promoted her to sales person and gave her a raise. My mom
Kept working very hard and as a result of this we finally moved out of the bad
Neighborhood we used to live in and moved to Beverly Hills.
While we were moving my mom fell down a flight of stairs and broke her foot,
But a broken foot is no match for a mothers love. My mom went to work with a broken
Foot because she knew me and my brother depended on her for food and shelter. So she
Took no time off and just continued going to work. I and my brother started going to
New schools and my mom was much closer to Lexicon now. At work my mom met
Another salesman from Argentina named Christian Gulisano.
They became good friends at work and little by little they became closer and
Closer. Chris would come over and visit us sometimes and help my mom out from time
to Time. He would even take care of my brother and I while my mom was at work. Chris
Found his way into our hearts and became like a father figure to me and my brother.
After A while my mother was once again promoted to supervisor.
My mom worked day and night for my brother and I for about a year or two, and
We had lots of problems in school. Learning a new language was no easy task, but
She pulled us through it all with the help of Chris and my grandma. A year later my
Mother was once again promoted to manager and started making a good amount of
Money, she bought a new car and we went on vacation from time to time. Another two
Years passed until one day my mom got an offer to be...
