Title: A Christmas Memory
Author: Truman Capote
Truman Capote (1924-1984) was born in New Orleans, but his father deserted the family, and the boy was moved from place to place while his mother lived in New York. For several years, Capote attended military school, which he hated. When he was seventeen, he abandoned formal schooling for good and moved to New York City to learn to write. He came to national prominence when he was just twenty four years old, with the publication of his first novel, Other Voiced, Other Rooms in 1948. Capote most famous novel is probably Breakfast at Tiffany’s in 1958; it was made into a movie. His most talked – about book is not fiction at all, but an account of mass murder that took place in Kansas, it is called In Cold Blood. Capote called the book a nonfiction novel- a narrative that reads like a novel but with events that are all true.
