It is a classic Charles Dickens Christmas tale of one man learning the true meaning of Christmas. Ebeneezer Scrooge (Michael Trost) is a cynical old man whose greatest concern is money, and doesn't believe Christmas. On Christmas eve, Scrooge is visited by Jacob Marley (David R. Allen), his former business partner. Marley warned him that he will be visited by three spirits to show Scrooge how he might still be able to correct his ways the Christmas Past (Jena Tumlin), the Christmas Present (Bill Kersh) and the Future (Gail Theobald). The three spirits showed him his errors in life and the life of his employee whom he really treats badly, Bob Cratchit (Jim Reynolds), whom is loyal to Scrooge the whole time despite of how he treated him.
Scrooge, played by Michael Trost, was perfect for his role. He had managed to look and act like a really cynical old man. One of the characters that really showed enthusiasm was the Christmas Past, who was played by Jena Tumlin. She played this, enthusiastic, playful and cheerful lady. I think her performance came out really natural. A Christmas Carol exhibited a lot of humor and fun which really spiced up the play even more. A Christmas Carol is a fun and humorous musical for the whole family. The play truly gave more fun and humor to Charles Dickens' classic novel.
