Zeus's Autobiography
I am Zeus, supreme ruler of all the gods. I am the son of Cronus and Rhea, and I am the brother of Demeter, Hades, Hera, Hestia, and Poseidon. Before I was born my father ate all of my brothers and sisters, but they did not get digested. Then when I was born my mother, Rhea, tricked him and fed him a rock instead of me! After that my mother secretly raised me.

When I was old enough my mother sent Cronus to go hunting, then she told me to attack him when he approached me. As soon as I saw him I ran toward him and kicked him as hard as I could in the stomach. Then he vomited all of my brothers and sisters, then they chose me to be king of the gods. Soon after that it was decided that I would rule the sky and the heaven, Poseidon would rule the oceans, Hades would rule the underworld. Later on I would lead the gods in a war with the titans. I also released the Cyclopses, the hundred-handed monsters, and the giants that the Titans had trapped.

In the war the hundred-handed monsters helped by throwing large rocks at the titans. The giants made a thunderbolt for me. we later won the war, and when we did I locked some of the Titans in Tartarus. I had others like Atlas hold up the earth. I was very kind to the titans that remained neutral during the war though. The only one to get away was my father, Cronus, he ran away at the end of the war.

Sometimes I get involved in the lives of mortals. For example I helped Odysseus, but I also gave him challenges. Most of my fellow gods favored the Greeks, but Poseidon did not. In the war between the Greeks and the Trojans we all favored the greeks, so we let them win. Some of us gods wanted to fight in the war, but I would not let them. Poseidon really wanted to, so he tricked me into letting him. When I found out I was not very happy, so I sent Apollo to revive anyone that Poseidon had injured. I also sent Odysseus on many adventures, and while he was gone his son wondered if he would ever return, so...
