A very good morning to Miss Bernice and my fellow colleagues. I’m Charlotte and today I’m going to speak about a topic that I’m most familiar with which is about myself. I was brought to this world on the 1st of July 1993 by my beloved parents. Being as fortunate as ever I was blessed with an older sister a younger brother and a younger sister, I am the second child in my family.
At the age of 3 I was sent to my first dance class at Jean Gan Academy of Ballet and Music at Starhill. I started taking ballet lessons and ever since then I’ve been dancing until now. I went to Q-dees for pre-school and at the age of 7 I was enrolled in Bukit Bintang Girls School. I was chosen for the school’s gymnastic team. I started going for training every Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 2. All my hard work paid off when I went for my first competition when I was eight. I represented my school and got second place for the overall event.
I started getting very serious with gymnastics that I attended training more frequently. Traning hours extended and all I ever did during that period in my life was train for gymnastics. All the training went to good use as I was selected to represent the country. I was sent by the government to Japan for my first national competition and everything was sponsored by the government, my shoes , my competition outfit and all my gymnastics apparatus. I trained really hard for that competition that I skipped school for a month and getting 5th place in the competition out of 70 girls from all over the world was very rewarding.
After that competition I started competing in many different national level competition. The best part was being able to travel to different countries.I consider myself really lucky having to experience all this at a young age and when I hit 12 years old I quitted gymnastics because of back injuries.
