XM Satellite Radio (XM) is one of two satellite radio (SDARS) services in the United States and Canada, operated by Sirius XM Radio. It provides pay-for-service radio, analogous to cable television. Its service included 73 different music channels, 39 news, sports, talk and entertainment channels, 21 regional traffic and weather channels and 23 play-by-play sports channels. XM channels are identified by Arbitron with the label “XM”.
The company was founded in 1988 as American Mobile Radio Corporation. The satellite service was officially launched on September 25, 2001. On July 29, 2008, XM and former competitor Sirius Satellite Radio formally completed their merger, following FCC approval, forming Sirius XM Radio, Inc

1.In the car - Radios designed to bring you all the music, sports and entertainment of XM wherever you drive 2. At home - Entertainment systems that go effortlessly from your office to your living room. 3. On the Go - Portable and lightweight, so your XM can follow you anywhere. This product is similar to MP3, iPod and other portable devices. XM is the first satellite radio company with portable, handheld radios that get live reception on the go. You can listen to live XM, or you can store XM programs for playback anytime. Some portable XM radios even let you play MP3 music. 4. Online - Let your computer be your stereo - no radio required. You actually can use your computer as a satellite radio receiver itself, so no extra equipment needed.
