The Writing Center
The Writing Center is a place that students can go for help if they need it in writing. The Writing Center is located in room 308 of the D.F. Lowry building. The Center is open on Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Sunday through Tuesday students can also visit the Mary Livermore Library from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for extra help from the tutors. Students who don’t think they are good at writing or students who just need help planning can come to the center and receive tutoring in the subject. The Writing Center helps students with essays that they are writing for applications or for classes. The Writing Center is a huge benefit for students because the staff there can help students become better writers, they can help students plan for their essays, and they can also correct errors or revise what the students have written. The Writing Center can help anyone from all majors and all grades. Appointments can be made at the Writing Center or online and they also accept walk-ins. To make appointment online students can go to www.uncp.edu/writing, and then click on Make an appointment. Once the student has signed in he or she can schedule any time that the tutors are available. Most students struggle on all parts of the writing process, from planning to writing. The tutors are trained to help in every aspect of writing and every type of writing. They can help you brainstorm and create a plan so that you can successfully get started on writing. The tutors are already paid for in the tuition that students paid, so why not take advantage of them? Students that don’t need help with planning or writing can just come in for revising or grammar corrections.

All of this and more is just a short drive down Raven Rode. The address is 789 Raven Road. It is easy to find because the street is a dead…
