The World Wildlife Fund
As we all should know from our seventh grade history class or a one-hundred level history class here in college, the American Bison were hunted to near extinction in the 19th century. Thanks to organizations like the World Wildlife Fund, millions of animals and thousands of animal species that were near extinction, like the American Bison, are still living today. Through research and my love for animals, I have learned quite a bit about the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and would like to share my love for animals and information about this great organization to others.Some main points of my essay include what exactly the World Wildlife Fund actually is, along with some of the animals that are named on the endangered species list, and what you can do to help them out. There are many other organizations along with the World Wildlife Fund that also support endangered species rehabilitation, but with the World Wildlife Fund being the largest
and most successful, I will mainly be focusing on it.
According to the World Wildlife Fund website, this organization has been around for over fifty years, all along the way they have been protecting the future of nature. Extinctions caused by humans are constantly rising to a very great amount. Experts believe that humans today are causing anywhere from one hundred to one thousand more extinctions than would be normal for nature running its natural course. The total number of animals and species that are going extinct is also unknown due to lack of information and specific data on every species in the entire world. Multiple species are now endangered, and many more are on the verge of becoming endangered or even worse, extinct. Help is very well needed due to the lack of care that was taken before...
