Teenage years are and most interesting but very challenging time for both kids and their parents. It is time where children are turning into adulthood in the matter of days. They want to make their own decisions and become independent as soon as possible. From my experience, I know how difficult it is to be a teenager. Today's teens are facing confusing opinions basically about every aspect of their lives. For example, when I was in my teens, I heard all the time that the most important thing is to get proper education, but on the other hand, I remember that I had difficulties to find a decent job without any experience. Back then it was common for someone to get his or her first job in his or her teens. Now there is growing trend for children to live with their parents until they finish their degrees. Of course if their parents can afford it. In my opinion, this is a huge mistake for many reasons.
Experience that teens learn during any of the jobs they are doing is priceless. Within the short period of time, they find out how to manage their own time, learn the real value of money and responsibility that comes with it. New skills that they practice will help them through rest of their lives. Eighteen years-old Olia an Oakton Community College student who is handling a part-time job as a babysitter when asked about her opinion said : “ juggling school with my work is not easy, but it forces me to focus on the most important things. Maybe I don't have that much free time to lay down on the couch and watch my favorite television series, but how productive it is? With my first job, I have learned new skills, such as how to fill out the job application, how to interview and how to be responsible”Adolescence is fun, and every single teen wants to became an adult as soon as possible, but it's not that easy.
