Anna Freud created child psychoanalysis. Anna greatly influenced the understanding of children and child psychology. Anna created many techniques to treat children. Anna made it possible to separate the thoughts of children from adults. Doing so Anna quickly picked up that the symptoms and thoughts of children differed from adults, and this directed mostly to developmental stages. Anna Freud strongly influenced society through her findings; she gave many explanations reflecting her study of children in her book that she wrote. Anna Freud traveled and did lectures on children and psychoanalysis. “She was equally devoted to her analytic work with adults; and some of the most distinguished analysts of later years undertook their training analysis with her” (Yorke, 1983, p. 334). Anna led many courses, which she offered at schools such as Yale Law School to collaboration with two other individuals who shared similar interests.
Anna Freud is not only known for her work but also she is also known through her well-known father, Sigmund Freud. Sigmund Freud, a well-known neurologist who founded the discipline of psychoanalysis. Anna Freud was the youngest in her family. Sigmund Freud had six children and Anna seemed to click with her father more than her mother. Anna Freud came from a large family, which made it extremely difficult to find a place in her family, and it was difficult to be close to her mother. Anna Freud struggled with school even though she was attending a private school. Anna’s education arose more from her father’s associates teaching and role modeling, which made her learn more and absorb much more information from her father’s friends rather than school.
Sigmund Freud was good at research, and main interest was in neurophysiology. A small amount of spots available in his field of interest it left him with limited chances of any positions... [continues]
