INTRODUCTION
More and more women are getting higher to the leadership dare, even in some of the mainly male-dominated industries and organizations. It is noticed a high percentage of women attending in the workplace or starting their own business has proved to men who own businesses that women can do both, be LEADERS, wives and mothers, therefore showing their male counterpart that women can actually do it all. In this research paper women in the workforce will be outlined, as well as the challenges they face. The leadership effectiveness and style will be discussed, changing stereotypes and towards motherhood will be looked at briefly, how women lead along with comparison to how men lead, and a conclusion of women in leadership.

1. WHAT IS LEADERSHIP?
There are lots of definitions and explanations for the term LEADERSHIP. One is “A relationship through which one person influences the behaviour or actions of other people” (Mullins, L.J. 2004). Another popular definition would be, “the process of influencing an organization or groups within an organization in its efforts towards achieving a goal” (Scholes, J. & Whittington, 2005).

1.1 General Information
Someone once said: “If you want to know if you are a leader, look around and see if anyone is following you”. Though this could be a good test, it is probably a simple answer. It is more possible to cause problems than provide an answer or a solution. If there are people following you, knowing when you have to stop and look around when you have been going in a particular direction is fine, the problem comes up when you look around and see that no one is following you! “Kouzes and Posner mention in their book that there are five practices of ideal leadership: •“Model the Way

Inspired a Shared Vision
Challenge the Process
Enable Others to Act
Encourage the Heart”

For many years of male control, in the business world, women have discovered the meaning of how to be successful leaders. Numerous questions have been posed how women are capable to manage the demands and dilemmas for this position in the 21st ‘competitive’ century. We realize that the answer is because/that women using their own unique skills rather than trying to copy men, and avoid to bear with an out of date ‘battle’ image that we thought was the only way forward in business. During the ages women have experienced so many changes; some have been making of their own, whether by campaigning, for example, to secure voting rights, others try to combine personal life with professional actions etc. challenges of globalization besides of multiple and attractive benefits have and important impacts. Obviously the pace of our lives is not the same; in some societies the level of independence that Western women take for granted may be many years away or possibly forever remain a dream for others. But when it comes to women in business, several...
