Week 8/ CCJ 220

Write a 350- to 700-word paper in which you define punishment philosophy and how it can affect the criminal justice post-conviction process. Include a description of how sanctions are related to punishment philosophy and used in the criminal justice field. Anytime you decide to commit a crime in you have to enter the criminal justice system in the end there is always punishment for the troubles you encounter. The word punishment can sound like a serious or harsh word to some people but, it really matter in how you say it . Let’s talk about punishment philosophy in how this theory is a study of concept punishment in how it is define, it’s practical application and justification and how it help us in the past half century by showing a marked drift away from efforts to reform and rehabilitate. This theory also explains how the offenders in favor of retribution and incarceration. There can be many ways in how it can affect the person post-conviction process but, this really matter in what the offender have plans for themselves. It is basically the life you choose to lead is how it will plan out for you to have a life after jail. When you are given a punishment you have to obey by it and understand that this is your punishment and have to deal with it. This is basically how sanctions are related to the punishment philosophy. It relates because sanctions are penalties or other means of enforcement that is used to provide incentives or not. This only happens by obeying with law or the rules and regulations while serving you time in or out of prison. There is much different type of criminal sanctions that the criminal justice field uses as a form of punishment. The forms of sanctions punishment is corporal which is to be known to understand that it is the use of physical force causing pain, but not wounds, as a means of discipline. Another form is capital punishment which is the lawful infliction of death as a punishment also...
