He is like a virus and his influence has an unconscious effect believe me I didn’t know when I started humming his controversial hit song “holla at your boy” unconsciously. He is a big force to be reckoned with and he could be tagged the heavyweight champion of the new hip-hop generation. He’s a young talent with vocals out of this world. He made his way into the limelight with his hook on M.I’s Fast Money Fast Cars off his(M.I’s) Talk about it album. Ever since he has featured on several songs with artistes like Banky W,Teeto,Hakym,Yungsix,Olamide,Samklef to mention a few. His biggest break was his hit song Holla AT YOUR BOY. Born AYODEJI IBRAHIM BALOGUN ,Wizkid as he is popularly called is signed to Banky’s EME record label. He released his debut album on June 9th 2011 titled “SUPERSTAR”; a 17 track album which features the likes of Wande Coal, D’Prince and so many others. In the first week of release he sold over 100,000 copies and has enjoyed constant airplay. At the age of 20,this extremely talented and charming young man has already achieved so much, thanks to his drive and focus for turning life’s experiences into incredible music. The year 2010 was a defining year for Wizkid as he released 5 singles, one hit after another until he became a household name. Later that year he bagged the Promising artiste of the year at the Dynamix All youth Awards. It has not being an easy road for the young stud as scandals seem to be synonymous with fame Wizkid has his own fair share of scandals. Numerous allegations flanked the artiste,first it was his copyright breach with his Holla at your boy hit song original version by SE7EN (Choi Dong-Wook) a south Korean pop/ rnb musician ,there were also tales of Wizkid being arrested for smoking weed, dropping out school, his infamous romantic relationship with Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh, rumors that he allegedly impregnated Shola a student of the University of Ghana.
