Wiring a House Model
Introduction Electricity can be an intimidating concept for many because of the potential danger. You can virtually eliminate that danger with a little knowledge and proper safety practices. However, regardless of how much knowledge you have, never become lax in dealing with an electrical system, or it can be deadly. This meant to give you an understanding of several common electrical situations that you might encounter. Because of the many options and variations in this area, it is not intended to be a complete guide to electrical work. Never take chances with electrical work. Electrical wiring in general refers to insulated conductors used to carry electricity, and associated devices. This article describes general aspects of electrical wiring as used to provide power in buildings and structures, commonly referred to as building wiring. This article is intended to describe common features of electrical wiring that may apply worldwide. For information regarding specific national electrical codes, refer to the articles mentioned in the next section. Separate articles cover long-distance electric power transmission and electric power distribution. Wiring systems in a single family home or duplex, for example, are simple, with relatively low power requirements, infrequent changes to the building structure and layout, usually with dry, moderate temperature, and non-corrosive environmental conditions. In a light commercial environment, more frequent wiring changes can be expected, large apparatus may be installed, and special conditions of heat or moisture may apply. Heavy industries have more demanding wiring requirements, such as very large currents and higher voltages, frequent changes of equipment layout, corrosive, or wet or explosive atmospheres. In facilities that handle flammable gases or liquids, special rules may govern the installation and wiring of electrical equipment in hazardous areas. The first interior power wiring systems used conductors that

These place a duty on employers to assess all foreseeable risks associated with work activities involving electricity. Employers are required to install safe systems of working, with well-maintained equipment, covering everything from power lines to kettles. All installation and repairs should be undertaken by a qualified electrician or those who have appropriate technical knowledge, though some minor repairs, inspections, fitting of plugs, etc may be undertaken by suitably trained staff.…

Human beings are well accomsisted with the electrical and the components .we may live without having food and shelter but we can’t live without electricity. We the humans are efficient in production, but are not as much efficient in transmitting .The percentage of loss of power during transmission and distribution is approximated as 26%. The main reason for power loss during transmission and distribution is the resistance of wires used for grid. The efficiency of power transmission can be improved to certain level by using high strength composite over head conductors and underground cables that use high temperature but, the transmission is still inefficient. According to the World Resource Institute (WRI), India’s electricity grid has the highest transmission and distribution losses in the world – a whopping 27%. Numbers published by various Indian government agencies put that number at 30%, and greater than 40%.…

In electricity supply systems, an earthing system or grounding system is circuitry which connects parts of the electric circuit with the ground (electricity), thus defining the electrical potential of the conductors relative to the Earth's conductive surface. The choice of earthing system can affect the safety and electromagnetic compatibility of the power supply. In particular, it affects the magnitude and distribution of short circuit currents through the system, and the effects it creates on equipment and people in the proximity of the circuit. If a fault within an electrical device connects a "hot" (unearthed) supply conductor to an exposed conductive surface, anyone touching it while electrically connected to the earth will complete a circuit back to the earthed supply conductor and receive an electric shock.…

Electricity is good servant but bad master. It can prove to be very dangerous if circuits are not properly protected. The major fault that appears in electrical network or equipment is termed as short circuit. In short circuit, the supply phase and neutral or earth is short circuited accidentally due to foreign metallic substance coming in contact with phase & neutral or earth or due to overload thereby damaging the insulation resulting in short circuit i.e. directly connected resulting in heavy current flow called "short circuit current". This high current heats up the terminations, switches, plugs & cable due to which temperature rises to such a high degree that it is sufficient to generate sparking which further leads to fire.…

A day-in-the-life can consist of connecting all types of wires and circuit breakers, outlets, and a host of other components. Their use of tools include: ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and other equipment used in electrical testing. Their work includes making regular assessments of electrical equipment and electrical systems. Most of their work involves adding and replacing wires, fuses, circuit breakers, connections, and much more. And, the work is achieved under a variety of conditions. At different times on the job, electricians are required to follow safety rules and guidelines. People with a careful eye for detail, good working habits, and great work judgement might consider becoming electricians. Electricians need to know how to read blueprints, install, and connect and test electrical devices. They must also be familiar with local and federal electrical regulations and codes. A good understanding of electrical systems and strong manual labor is required to be effective on the job.…
