Winning The Lottery
I woke up this morning and the first thing I did was pick up the newspaper to check my lottery numbers. As I read through the numbers my heart starting beating a little faster cause as I went through the list every number I had read so far was a match to what was on my ticket. Finally I was to the last number and I looked at it and looked at my lottery ticket. I almost passed out cause right there on my lottery ticket were the winning numbers. I jumped for joy and started screaming I won at the top of my lungs.

The next day I woke up early, got in my car and drove to the lottery redemption center to cash in my ticket. When I get there I parked my car and sat there for a second. My heart was beating so fast I couldn't wait to get the money in my hands and drive home. I got out of the car and walked in. I got in there and showed them my ticket. They verified it was a winning ticket and wrote my check. I went to the local bank and cashed it. They gave me my money and I drove back home.

Later that night around six p.m. I called up some of my family and friends and had them come over to celebrate me winning the lottery. Once everyone arrived the questions started pouring out. The first thing they asked was what i was planning on buying first. I told them probably a car or a new house. Around one a.m. everyone left and I went to bed.

The next morning I went to the nearest real estate agency and looked at some of the houses they had there for sale. I found a nice house for $1,593,000. It was sitting on 135 acres of land on top a hill outside of town so I didn't have to worry about privacy. I had the real estate agent drive me up to the house. When I got there my mouth just dropped at the site of it. It was so big. When I got inside it was even bigger. The first room was the enterance room. Then we went into the next room which was the living room. This room had to be the size of my house I was living in right now. The next room was the room with the pool in it. The

Starting the car with a bright smile on my face. Feeling absolutely confident. I released the hand brake and immediately hit the brakes in attempt to stop the car. My heartbeat began to increase as I started to think what I should do next. As the car stood in the middle of the road I visualized my dad driving the car. Taking three deep breaths I quickly released the brake again and pressed on the clutch and shifted to first. As I cruised in the neighborhood feeling proud I saw a hand in the air, as it got closer I realized it was my dad demanding me to park the car. Though my dad hammered me verbally for stealing the car while he was asleep, I had a smile on my face because that day I had learned how to drive a manual car.…

To play Powerball a participant must purchase a ticket and then select five numbers from the digits 1 through 55 and a Powerball number from the digits 1 through 42. To determine the winning numbers for each game, lottery officials draw five white balls out of a drum with 55 white balls, and one red ball out of a drum with 42 red balls. To win the jackpot, a participant’s numbers must match the numbers on the five white balls in any order and the number on the red Powerball. Eight coworkers at the ConAgra Foods plant in Lincoln, Nebraska, claimed the record $365 million jackpot on February 18, 2006, by matching the numbers 15-17-43-44-49 and the Powerball number 29. A variety of other cash prizes are awarded each time the game is played. It was a cold stormy night. The house was still. I was lying in bed when I heard a series of knocks at the door. As I descended the stairs the knocks were getting louder and louder. I thought to myself, "Who could be at the door this late at night?" When I opened the door there was a tall man dressed all in black. He smelled of fish and looked like he just walked out of a mud pit. He was having car troubles and needed to use the phone. I invited him in and told him that the phone was down the hall in the living room. Instead of calling the tow truck he called his friend, George, to come pick him up. I invited him to have a cup of coffee and some cookies while he waited for his friend to pick him up. We talked for about an hour when there was another knock at the door.…
