What’s Going to Help Save More From Falling Victim
to Gun Violence and Gun Crime?

Reducing the number of guns in circulation and limiting the kinds of guns that can be sold are the only things that will affect public safety concerning guns and gun violence because more guns just means more gun crime and deaths. So many guns are already in circulation existing gun laws are difficult to enforce. With over 200 million firearms in circulation, 70 million of which are handguns (Watkins), it’s no surprise that the existing gun laws have become more difficult to enforce. The number of guns released and put into circulation each year needs to be reduced in order for there to be a change in how many guns remain in circulation. This is the only way to affect the number that is currently in circulation. This is also the only democratic way to do it because realistically there is no way for a country to democratically locate and seize the guns people already own.
