Wifi, or wireless local area network, had an unsuccessful beginning, a very complex way of working, and many helpful uses in today’s world. It is an internet source for a small area and can be used wirelessly. It is a convenient source for entertainment and communication. It works by using a transmitter and a receiver. There are many types of wireless systems. Wifi had its very first beginning back in 1985 with the decision by the Federal Communications Commission to open several bands of wireless spectrum. By opening the bands, the government allowed them to be used without the need for a government license. The bands at 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, and 5.8 GHz were being used at the time for uses other than communication. For example microwave ovens use radio waves in these frequencies to heat up food. The FCC made them available only if devices using these frequencies would not interfere with existing technology. At the time there was not anybody taking advantage of the decision by the FCC (The Economist). It would not be until 1991 that Wifi would begin to be used in the industry. Wifi, as we know it today, was created by...
