Why women are better suited than men to look after children
1. Women carry the baby for 9 months so they have a relationship with it even before it’s born. We are genetically programmed to be more caring and protective than men. It has always been that way. We have this instinct. You can still see it with the animals, if you look at lions you’ll see that it is the mother who protects their kids from opponents and even their father. Besides that it’s also generally known that we are more flexible, more patient and just… More soft-hearted. 2. From the time they are little girls, females learn about nurturing. First with dolls and later perhaps with younger brothers and sisters, girls are given the role of carer from the beginning. Girls see their mothers in the same roles and so it is natural that they identify this as a female activity. 3. We are better listeners so children are more likely to go to their mother to talk about any kind of problem. Women notice more details and can remember more details than men and it gives the child a comforting feeling when it sees that their parent knows e.g. all names of their friends. Women tend to be better communicators than men. This is shown is intelligence tests, where females, on average, do better in verbal communication than males 4. It is known that a higher deal of men whether working or not tend to hang around more with their friends during their leisure time. In most cases they will show up in their home later in the day unlike women who always feel they have the duty to attend to making them spend more time at home thus more time to be with the children. 5. Men cannot do multitask work compared to women.
