ABSTRACT
The self-deception of our age with what we persevere in the name of 'DEMOCRACY' is the biggest blot on its sense of reason. What the world celebrates as 'DEMOCRACY' is nothing but an establishment in the old line of authoritarian regimes of Kings, Feudal Lords and Foreign invaders, except that those who are in the driver's seats are men from our own species of ‘people’. There may be many external symbolic differences between the old regimes and today’s democracy, but the internal motivational energies, and the spirit of the ruler and the ruled, are mostly the same. The one marked difference is that, in DEMOCRACY, people have more rights to cry out openly regarding injustices and inequalities. But such expressions of dissent also stand highly institutionalized that, it does not alter the internal working of the system in any degree, but only adds to its severity. Such dissents are also treated as essential ingredients of the false system and hence it offers adequate cover for oppressing of the regime.
Democracy was a ‘quality’ like LIBERTY and EQUALITY that evolved out of ‘human reason’, in the evolutionary maturity of time. These qualities were meant to redefine life in better and more civilized ways. But such intended meaning and goals of democracy have got totally distorted today. Democracy is more a meaning encompassing the fight among the members of public, or to be more specific, members of professional groups called 'political parties', to grab such seats of power in the governance of a country that the masters of the old regimes had once abandoned and has much less to do with providing the above essential qualities to re-define human lives.
