Marijuana
Many people argue about how marijuana should become legal, because it has been proven that is less harmful and addictive then alcohol. I however, believe that marijuana should remain illegal for many reasons. Marijuana dates back thousands of years ago, it is known to be used by the ancient Hindus, it has been used since then as a natural medicine and a widely abused drug. Marijuana is now the most widely used drug, and it also the largest cash crop. There has been a big fight to make marijuana legal on both a state level and federal level. So far the fights to make it legal have failed. There are a few states that allow marijuana to be used medically, but it is still overall illegal on a federal level for both recreational and medical use. Marijuana causes the user to feel distorted perception, problems with memory, difficulty in problem solving, paranoia, increased heart rate, and many more effects. Short term use of Marijuana causes the following: Likely to feel calm and relaxed, Elevates the heart rate and pulse rate, Cardiac arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeats, Difficulty in breathing, Panic attacks, Anxiety, Dry throat, mouth, and lips, Drowsiness/Sleepiness, Bloodshot eyes, Hallucination, Paranoia, Decrease in memory, reflexes and coordination, Alters the users perception on time, Increased hunger (munchies). Long term users will experience: Addiction, Anxiety, Amotivational Syndrome, Burnout, Risk of Lung Cancer, Bronchitis, and Emphysema, Memory Loss, Damage to Immune System, Infertility (for both men and women), Irregular Periods (for women), Impotency (for men), Heart and lung damage, Hormonal imbalances, Low blood pressure, Blurred Vision (CADE).
