Pursue an MBA Degree
Going through high school, I was determined to go to college after graduation and study Architecture. I was accepted and began my college life in a dorm. I was on the right path gaining my education for a better life. After two (2) years, my dreams came to an abrupt halt, forcing me into full-time employment, marrying, and having three (3) children. Years passed with the longing desire to finish my Degree. While talking to a friend, I learned about online college. Looking into University of Phoenix, I knew I would never become an Architect, but the information technology field sparked my interest. I started college again, online this time, and obtained my Associate’s Degree. Liking the online college atmosphere, I continued until I completed my Bachelor’s degree.
      Why am I choosing to pursue a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) Degree? While I first thought the answer would be to achieve a personal goal; however, I believe the more appropriate answer would be to start a new career. At this point in my life, I have the opportunity to search different employers and accept a job offer that will relate to my degree and one that I would enjoy until retirement age.
      The MBA degree is the most sought after professional graduate degree. Approximately 120,000 new MBA alumni are produced annually in North America. MBA holders are diverse in many ways, across a host of personal characteristics, MBA program factors, and post degree employment characteristics. (Florence, 2009, Abstract para. 1)
Pursuing an MBA degree would increase my skills, increase my opportunities, and increase value in both my personal life and in my professional career.
