Person needs to achieve certain goals in one's life before you can call them successful. Success determined by the goals you set. I have set certain goals I would like to achieve in my lifetime, some of these goals are personal , while others are professional .One of the goals in my life is to find a good carrier that makes me happy .That’s why nursing attracted my attention for variety of reasons ?.
The first and most important reason to me is the work environment; I love working in open space not trapped between four close walls. I have been a server in a restaurant for many years ;it give me the ability to be more attentive to patients .Also in nursing you could go anywhere, work with adult , children , in public health, physicians’ offices ,schools , factories , and were only limited by your level of education. I found that nursing could be whatever I want to make of it .People need nurses in all aspects of life. If I ever were to feel '' burned out " in one area I could get more education and expand into another field of nursing . If I need move to another country I could transfer and easy get established there. The second reason is a flexible schedule. Being a nurse is to give me the opportunity to work twelve hour shift .I could have four days off which would allay me to have more time with my children so I can help them with their homework and take care of their needs . The third reason is something to be proud of. Nursing is a respected profession; people need and respect nurses. They look up to them, because they give support and direction. I think being a nurse is not just an occupation it’s also a commitment. The forth reason is a job security and salary .There is high demand for registered nurses all over the world. I can make a salary that can support me and my family. The fifth reason is challenge. I get bored easily which is another reason it is a good fit for me.
