Why College Education Is Important to Me
Why College Education is Important to Me Patty Murray said “A good education means learning to read, write and most importantly learn how to learn so that you can be whatever you want to be when you grow up.” Getting a college education will help open so many doors and give me opportunities to better myself, and provide me with a more successful life that I can be proud of. In today’s society it is hard to get a good job or have a stable career without first getting a college degree. A college education is important to improve my chance at getting my dream job; also to give my family a better life. It will help me to improve myself and become a more prepared person for stepping out into this world. This is important so I can be a role model for my children; to be someone they will look up to, admire, and hopefully inspire them to continue their education. My college education is my key to a successful and brighter future.
Everyone wants to better their life, but not everyone has the motivation to succeed. After high school I was like most eighteen year old graduates, happy to no longer have to worry about school. I was naïve in thinking I didn’t really need to go to college to get what I wanted from life. But later I learned the hard way, that the only way I would get anywhere in this world was to go back to school and better myself. A college education will teach me many valuable skills such as self-discipline and improving my thinking skills. College is nothing like high school; you no longer have your mom or teachers telling you to; do your homework or study for a test. You must rely on yourself and have the self-discipline to get done what you need to pass your classes and graduate. College will challenge me to challenge myself by expanding my thinking and learning to think outside of the box. Not all answers will be black and white anymore, and getting a college education will provide me with I will need to develop my mind and learning skills.
