Why APA
There are several styles of writing that suit different purposes. Growing up the most common format used in school is MLA or Modern Language Association. For fields involving any type of science or research American Psychological Association, also known as APA, is typically useful. In a nursing profession, one is required to read through research papers and medical journals, which are all based through APA format. To even become a certified nurse, one is obligated to complete a research paper, which will be done in the American Psychological Association format.
As a nursing student APA is utilized before your career starts till after it is established and since this style of writing is used world wide, it also makes it uncomplicated to share research and ideas globally. APA format will be will come in handy when writing papers which require all details on an experiment along with accurate conclusions and data results. The structure of APA format makes is effortless when finding specific subject matters or topics. If you can write in APA format that means you are able to put all the thoughts in your head in to a structured and concise way to communicate.
In all respects, APA is probably the most useful style of writing for me. Using this format, I can take all my ideas on a specific subject and organize them in a manner that gets strait to the main points, and flows as you read. One day I might even have to create a portfolio to showcase my work, and I will have research done in the APA format, which will give credit to those whom I based my ideas off of as well as create o focal point on the subject matter.
