Whole Foods is a company that carries both natural and organic food offering customer a wide variety of products. Co-Founder John Mackey was successful during 3 decades of experience in the grocery business. His company early run a business of organic food market and it solidified its position and carry on growing itself. However, with the changing of world economy and a more competitive industry, John Mackey is worrying about reaching the company’s aggressive growth targets. His goal is to reach US$10 billion without losing quality and its current reputation. It is not easy and John Mackey does not sure the best strategy to do that.
Organic foods are unadulterated by artificial additives, sweeteners, colourings and preservatives, in other words, the company tries to keep their food purest and freshest. Price is the problem with the lower income population, however. With those people who have low level income, it is hard for them to buy foods of the company.
