When People Ask Me
When people ask me
When people asked me what do you want to study when you finish school? My answer was:
I don´t know.
This was my answer for a long time, until I realised, I always wanted to be an artist, and it has always been my dream since I was a little boy to be the greatest artist and the greatest inventor the world could have. Like Leonardo Da-Vinci was, like my father would want me to be, me, becoming what I really want to be.
So I started to answer that question, I want to study art and a very common reply was: If you want to be an artist you have to be very lucky.
So I started to think, is this true? Do I really have to be that lucky?
Is Van Gogh considered one of the greatest painters of all times because of his luck?!
Is Eminem now where he is, in his mansion, playing tennis on his own tennis court, or swimming in his pool just because of luck? Even considering that he was poor and lived in a very humble house with his mother, is this luck?
No!!! of course not. They are considered some of the greatest artists because of their talent, skill, imagination, knowledge and their hard work to be where they are.
The author Eric Thomas once said: When you want to succeed as badly as you want breath then you´ll succeed.
And I want it! I want it so badly that I will work as hard as I can to achieve my dreams; I want it so badly that I will dedicate my entire life to succeed; I want it so badly that I will study art and I will do whatever it takes to be the man I want to be in my future. Because I want it, because I owe it to my dad. He passed away 5 years ago. So I will honour him by doing what he taught me best, to work hard, to build, to create, to use my imagination to transform all the knowledge that I can have and be able to build something new.
Because imagination, knowledge and hard work are the best weapons that we can have.
In this world where
There is no path, we live in a constantly changing maze, the future is a prediction that we create with our

Luck has always been a word that can stir up a debate on whether or not it exists. Some people believe luck exists and there’s nothing you can do to change your failure or success. Yet there are others that believe the actions you partake in to reach many opportunities will determine success or failure. Personally I agree with the following notion by Oprah Winfrey that says “luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.” My reasons for agreeing are because the actions you take will always determine your outcome and preparation is a great factor when faced with any and all opportunities.…

Only if they make space food tastier. Now I’m about to be one of many so-called “grown-ups” and I finally have the answer. I want to help people. I will help people. I am going to be a social worker.…

Everyone is asked one question, at a very young age. That question is: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” There isn’t a time I can remember when an adult didn’t ask me this question. When I was six, I would respond with the usual movie star, fashion designer, or veterinarian. My answer would be said confidently, as at this age I walked through life as if it were no big deal. My answer occasionally changed to fit with my many childhood phases, but my view on the question stayed the same. When I was a child, I replied to this inquiry the same way everyone else did; I answered with an occupation. It took me years to discover my new approach to this question. My new response did not include my dream job, but how I saw myself in the future.…

I loved art. When I was a young child I would always design new temples, and pyramids in the sand. I loved to paint, I would make my own paint and draw on anything I possibly could. I was passionate about it all. Father and mother always supported my art, but they expected me to follow father’s footsteps and become a scriber. I didn’t want to be a scriber. I wanted to be a painter. I wanted to design the newest, most beautiful pyramid in Egypt. It was a big dream, but I was determined to make it happen. I would be the greatest painter Egypt has ever seen.…

Luck is something that almost everyone experiences. To experience it more, however, one must work harder. According to the online dictionary, luck is a combination of circumstances, events, etc, operating by chance to bring good or ill to a person. Abraham Lincoln once said “The harder I work, the luckier I get.” There is a lot of truth in his statement. The better one prepares oneself for a task, the more likely luck will grace him. For example, in the most recent Summer Olympic Games, there were two races when Michael Phelps, known for the seven gold medals he collected in swimming, won by a total of nine hundredths of a second ' one race by just a hundredth. Some critics call it luck. Others even call it divine intervention. Logically speaking, it was the result of all the hard work he put into his preparation. His performance was not just a fruit of his hard work, but also a fruit of the environment in which he trained in. True, he is a very talented swimmer, but his skill was honed also because the environment where he trained. The training environment he and his teammates had was a luxury not available to most of his opponents. It is also a benefit of the economic success of his country.…

I recall being asked by my relatives: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” and instead of an answer I would give them a blank stare. I had no idea how to respond. Not because there was nothing I found appealing, but because I felt passionate about too many things. I loved music, math, design, helping others, working with kids, analyzing situations and solving problems. There were to many career paths that I liked, but it always seemed to me that in order to follow one I would have to give up the rest.…

In my adult life I have decided to further my education and prepare myself to be a better nurse as well as a better role model to my children. While completing nursing school I made the difficult choice to continue full time employment in the medical field while raising three small children. While my road to RN was a challenging one, when I completed my goal I was able to instantly transfer into the position of telemetry nurse at the local hospital. At the same time, over 70% of my class was not able to find employment for over a year. How was it that I was able to achieve my goal so quickly? Was it luck? Yes, if luck is defined as Oprah has stated it to be. Perhaps it was lucky that there was a position open at just the right time. Perhaps it was luck that I worked with nursing preceptors during my schooling who were willing to put in a good work for me. I do believe, though, that without my hard work and preparation, my perceived good luck may not have developed into my success.…

As far as I can remember growing up in Korea, when everyone in kindergarten were told to write down what they want to become in life, I subconsciously wrote down to become an artist. As a little kid, I had no idea in the basic structures of creating “art.” After I told myself that this is what I wanted to be, my curiosity was endless. In this day and age, I was put in after-school academy where it’s traditional in Korea for further education; however, after my commitment to art, I begged my mom to put me into art academy where I got to first explore the world of arts. I trusted my instincts and developed this love for art from scratch by never going back on my…

Due to my past experiences, I am convinced that further education in art will help me to grow into a creative just as responsible and hard-working individual. Although I am happy about what I have accomplished up to now, I yet have to challenge myself in order to exceed the quality of my previous work. I love creating and designing, permanently seeking to learn more. I am eager to work in an environment that encourages artistic and personal growth and teamwork with other passionate, hard-working and creative individuals as I did in the past. This proved to be inspiring, motivating and promoting at the same time. Over the last few years I was fortunate to be in such a place and to have a family that supports me following my dreams.…
