Chris McCandless has a personality disorder because he was impulsive. Kraig Becker, a blogger, discusses Chris McCandless' mental issues in his blog. Becker states,” He goes on to point out that McCandless took on a different person, in taking the name Alexander Supertramp, and reference notes that were left behind in McCandless' journals as evidence that he was suffering from schizophrenia" (Becker). Kraig's quote demonstrates that Chris' writing was referred to as in third person because he might have suffered from schizophrenia. Impulsivity was what made Chris McCandless have a personality disorder.  3b: 

Chris McCandless' reckless actions were a symptom of a personality disorder. Chip Brown, article writer, discusses Chris McCandless' possible personality disorder in his article. Brown states, “His moralistic myopia in high school and in college demonstrate his thought processes differed drastically from those prevalent in the materialistic 1980s. But was it Asperger's or high-functioning autism? It's difficult to say” (Brown). Brown’s excerpt shows that Chris' thought processing differed drastically from those materialistic people in the 80’s and that could have been a symptom for Asperger’s or high-functioning autism. Chris McCandless has a personality disorder because he was impulsive. 3c:

Chris McCandless’ reckless actions were a symptom of a behavioral condition. Desertdweller, Psych Forum writer, discusses Chris’ difficulty with authority beings and that he was very competitive that could have been a schizoid. Desertdweller states, “Chris was smart and athletic as a child, but seemed to have problems with authority and he was very competitive” (Desertdweller). Desertdweller’s quote demonstrates that he had a problem with authority and he was very competitive so that could have been a symptom for schizoid. Impulsivity was what made Chris McCandless have a personality disorder....
