1. Class Tardiness & Participation (10%)
* The tutor will record down the frequency of each student’s attendance and participation during tutorial sessions. * Each time a student participates in tutorial class, he or she will be awarded 1%. The award of marks is only for Tutorial 3 (Week 2) to Tutorial 12 (Week 6).

1. Mid-Term Test: Multiple Choice Questions (25%)
A mid-term test will be given during Week 3. It consists of 25 multi-choice questions and will cover lecture topics from Weeks 1 to 3. Students are expected to complete all the questions within one hour.

3. Tutorial Presentation (15%)

* Form into groups of 4 to 5 students in each group.
* Each group will be assigned tutorial questions.
* Each group will be given an hour to present the tutorial answers. * Students will be assessed individually according to the criteria listed. * Presenters are required to use visual aids for their presentations. * The tutor will inform the scheduled dates for each group to present. * Use the cover page provided by the lecturer/tutor. (refer Appendix 3)

4. Group Written Assignment (50%)

Requirements

Select a company in the consumer market for analysis and write a report on the following topics: * Background of the company
* Segmentation, targeting and positioning
* Marketing environment
* Marketing Mix: Product, Place, Price, and Promotion
* Recommendations
Instructions to students

* Form into groups of 4 to 5 students in each group.
* Write a report of between 12 to 15 pages (excluding Table of Contents and Appendices). A penalty of 2% will be imposed on reports exceeding the required number of pages. * The assignment must be submitted in neatly type-written Report Format. * Assignment is to be typed in font size 12pt, Times New Roman. 1.5 spacing on A4 size papers. * All pages must be paginated consecutively using Arabic numerals (e.g., 1, 2, 3, etc) including appendices and printed at the bottom centre of the page. * Appendices: copies of articles must be attached to the report. * Use the Harvard Referencing System. .
