“What’s so Natural about Nature?”
Like many other words, the word nature has many different meanings to many different people. There are many different assumptions that people have about nature One assumption is that nature cannot be improved upon However, depending on the meaning of “nature”, this is controversial argument Some think of nature as the obvious plants, trees, and grass, yet there is so much to the word nature then just foliage. Personally I side with the statement that nature cannot be improved upon I consider nature as pure an untouched. When I think of nature not only do I associate the beauty of a forest or the gentleness of a woodland setting, I think of the purest things on this earth that should not be fixed by the outside world such as the body and the environment as a whole.
One of the main things I consider in the world to be pure and natural is the body. The body consists of so many components that work without our doing and keep us alive and well. Due to our narcissistic society of today many feel the need to be perfect by means of the cosmetics worlds newest technology, plastic surgery.
Plastic surgery cannot only be a process of minimizing a scar from a accident, but also improving essentially any body part imaginable. If a woman feels like her breast aren’t what they use to be, instead of excepting the bodies natural way of aging, she could go spend tens of thousands of dollars for “new” boobs. In some cases nothing fake or synthetic is put into the body however some surgeries like the infamous “boob job” can introduce an unnatural substance to the body. When complete people look at themselves like they have improved the nature of their body, however I highly disagree. Aging as well as the way you were born is a natural process.
