Modesty vs. Immodesty Clothing for Girls

Have you ever wondered about what other people think about the way you dress and your personality? Do you know that a guy’s first impression of a girl comes from the way she dresses? In today’s generation, dressing immodestly is being seen by many people as ‘normal’. But, how should teenage girls dress these days? This research paper attempts to find out the appropriate ways girls should dress and the reasons behind the way they dress.
Some people choose to dress modestly while others dress in a fashionable and revealing ways. But what does modesty mean? Modesty means the state or quality of being modest. Immodesty means offending against sexual mores in conduct or appearance; indecent. Hence, modesty clothing relates to more classic clothing such as skirts that are below the knee, high cut shirts, and high waist pants. In contrast, immodesty clothing refers to mini -skirts, low cut shirts, low waist pants, and leggings with hanging t-shirts.
Nowadays, the world doesn't tell us the true meaning behind the clothes that we wear. There are many reasons why people wear modesty clothing. One reason for modesty clothing is that it reflects one’s attitude about yourself. If a girl has a high self-esteem, she does not need to dress fancy and reveal her physical body. From a guy’s point of view, women who usually dress modestly has respect for themselves and feel more secured compared to immodest girls. Being around with modest women makes a guy give them immediate respect and confidence that they respect themselves.
Another reason for modesty clothing relates to personal and spiritual values. For instance, Christian women believe that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. As such, women believers wear clothes that reflect their inward and godly character.
