What is the U.S. Army’s Responsibility to the Haiti People?
The power of the United Nations getting all countries involve acquiring the help of the military from each country in relief of a crisis when a natural disaster has happen to our fellow countryman. Using the mighty Army to help the people of Haiti in any capacity necessary. Whenever tragedy strikes we are compelled to do something. The U.S. Army’s responsibility to the Haitian people is to continue an ongoing effort to do right by aiding the earthquake victims in Haiti and providing shelter, food, and medical treatment. Soldiers also provide order and protection to the people of Haiti. U.S. Army Soldiers from numerous locations are deploying to the devastated Caribbean Nation as part of a Joint Task Force Haiti and Operation Unified Response created by the Army.
Our main mission is to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. The security presence that we will provide is urgently needed, with reports of law and order fraying in the capital Port-au-Prince. Our efforts in Haiti are invaluable in the relief effort. Army medical teams can help the injured, and Soldiers can distribute food. You ask why assist the Haitian people? I say, why not? America stands for Liberty, Justice, and Freedom for all.
We have a responsibility to build partnership and support to any of our neighboring nations. When they are in need we are the ones who respond whether it is terrorist or a natural disaster. We owe it to the Haitian people to support them and reunite them with their loved ones. We are well equipped and experienced in providing humanitarian assistance and disaster response throughout the region. The U.S. Army remains an enduring partner committed to providing support to the Haitians.
