what is knowledge
What is knowledge?
What is knowledge? The question is hard to answer. People are not sure what is knowledge and the philosopher too. in dictionary meant that : the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association; acquaintance with or understanding of a science, art, or technique; the range of one’s information or understanding; the circumstance or condition of apprehending truth or fact through reasoning. According to the philosophy knowledge have different meaning by the philosopher’s discussion.
First in discussion of “Plato’s answer” he thought that the knowledge is justified true belief. We can definition by three parts “true”, “belief” and “justified”. For beliefs are things people have being an internal thought or memory which exists in mind. They’re in your head and generally are viewed as just the way you hold the world to be. Belief what coming in your head that you thought that true. But for some reason you think could be wrong. For example most people are believe in some form of Gods, but these beliefs have not been proved; they may even be unprovable. It is possible that they are false, but people certainly have this beliefs within their minds, and even know them as knowledge. “truth” is negative with belief because it is not in your head. It is the way that world exists, the way of life, the fact. When you believe something, you hold that or accept that a statement or proposition is true. It could be false that’s why you belief may not match up with the way the world really is. In fact, there is no such thing as a fact because a fact can only a fact when it is reported and it is no doubt that when a fact is reported, it is being distorted. You can change you belief but not the fact. For example the fact of history it was the happen in past and how you can change it, you couldn’t came back to that time. And for the “justified” meant that to prove that what you said is right. It means that the

Knowledge is generally thought to require justified true belief, even if justified true belief is not sufficient for knowledge, as Edmund Gettier famously argued. In the Meno, Plato demonstrates that true opinion is not equal to knowledge. However, Gettier holds a different opinion that justified opinion is not equal to knowledge, but it is necessary to knowledge. I support the Plato’s opinion that true opinion is not equal to knowledge, and that justified opinion is not necessary to having knowledge of something.…

Because of this, belief was not beneficial for the soul because there was no way to prove exactly what the mind believed. Truth, unlike belief, brings goodness and knowledge, which are beneficial to the soul. Whereas knowledge provides light for the soul, belief dims the soul. In seeking true reality, the individual moves beyond belief to seek knowledge of what is attainable. This upward journey to seeking true reality and knowledge is how Plato believed an individual saved himself or herself from the world.…

Knowledge is the things that one has taken into itself and made the decision to believe that it is true. This leads to the question, what makes certain obtained pieces of knowledge true? Descartes would doubt everything until he came to an absolute and undeniable truth. If he had any reason to doubt something, it could not be true knowledge. Descartes then discovered one thing that he could not doubt and that is “I think, therefore I am.” He says that if he can think, then he knows that he exists.…

In order to distinguish between something that is true, and something that is believed to be true, it’s important to examine the truth-in-question with the four ways of knowing, as well as it’s justifications, and through Plato’s three truth requirements. If something that is believed to be true cannot be properly explained and justified through the ways of knowing and the justifications of at least empiricism and/or authority, than it is probably not true.…

The article, as it can be inferred from the title too, focuses on the authors attitude towards the apology campaign conducted by the enlightened people of our society but mainly towards those people's opinions on the Armenian Genocide. The campaign is just a tool that the writer uses in order to criticize the ones who believe there has been genocide. The author chose to demonstrate an offensive and assailing approach to the issue of Armenian Genocide; it is evidently an arousing and tempting article for the ones who deny the genocide yet an insulting one for the people who admit it. Atiye Danış starts the article by condemning the enlightened people of The Republic of Turkey such as Baskın Oran and Ahmet Insel due to the campaign they conducted which aims to attract Turkish citizens in order to apologize from the Armenians. The author is of course free to express her opinions but the article would have been more influential if the arguments she makes were not inaccurate. It is so in this case because she merely criticizes the conductors of the campaign by using insulting words rather than stating the facts which prove that there was no genocide.…

Knowledge is defined as Justified True Belief. A belief can be anything from the belief in my own existence to the belief that I will get good grades in the course. No one can argue what a person believes. But for a belief to be accepted as knowledge, it needs to be justified and be true. Skeptics raised a question as to how can you justify anything being true.…

There are different sides of knowledge. If you have the knowledge, you would be able to distinguish the things that are right from the things that are wrong, there are some mistakes that people might misunderstood, they might think that knowledge is not important, yet it is a need of a person. Knowledge is a blessing that we need to develop so that in the future we will be able to use this knowledge to our daily lives. We should all be thankful that we have the ability to learn because knowledge is an important factor that we need to have as a human being. Each philosopher has different understanding of knowledge, hence, knowledge have different meanings. Plato (428/7 BCE) from Athens said that Human Knowledge “was grounded in social customs and perceptions of individual people”. Pseudo-Dionysius (500 BCE) also has a different concept of knowledge, for him there are two possible way to have knowledge to God, The Positive and The Negative. The positive way is where we see all the positive traits in all things, whereas the negative way is “that he did not have the attributes of finite creatures.” Aquinas concept of knowledge is the Knowledge by Analogy, the first type of relation is called “Univocal”. The second type was called “Equivocal”, and last but not the least is the “Analogical”. For Democritus “There are two forms of knowledge, the true born and the illegitimate.” The true born knowledge is when they can say what it is just by looking at it, their knowledge is the same for they have seen it, but it will become illegitimate, if they use their senses to identify the thing that is shown to them. Augustine said that when we sense objects, we derive some knowledge from the act of sensation, thus “Such sensory information is at the lowest level of knowing”, indeed that we could gain some knowledge when we are using our senses but Augustine said that sensory might give us the least amount of certainty…

A lot of people view “knowledge” as how smart you are, or what you know and what you don’t, but there is much more to what “knowledge” really is. According to Charles van Doren, knowledge is the accumulation of information and the understanding of how things work. There are three types of knowledge: knowledge in particulars, general knowledge, and certain knowledge. Particular knowledge is knowing where you are well enough to survive and general knowledge is understanding concepts. Van Doren gives these examples as a pieces of general knowledge, “All living things are born and also die,” and “...winter follows summer, and summer winter” (pg. xx). General knowledge is understanding the cause and effect of things. Finally, certain knowledge is grouped into two types: Self-evident propositions and faith. There are few self-evident propositions. Many math statements are considered certainly true (self-evident propositions), as well as real world statements such as, “A finite whole is greater than any of its parts,” as van Doren explains (pg. xxi). The other part of certain knowledge is faith. The pieces of information that God has given us through His Word. Accepting this knowledge from God as certain truths is difficult for many, and is even said to be impossible without His grace. People desire for knowledge. And the one cure for our desire of knowledge is faith (pg. xxiii). Faith answers so many questions that the other types of knowledge fail to answer.…

Zong Qinghou was born in 1945 in Hongzhou during a turbulent period in China (Yang, 2004). Zong did not receive much formal education, thus he had various menial low paying jobs from 1963 to 1982, including jobs at the Zhoushang Salt Farm, the Luxing Farm, and a small paper carton factory. Like millions of other Chinese workers without many opportunities to earn a decent living, Zong dreamed of starting his own business. The opportunity came in 1986 after Zong returned to Hongzhou to take care of his mother who was sick. Zong got a job selling milk in a mini-grocery in a local school in the Shangchen District where his mother worked as a teacher. From this job, he identified opportunities. It was an era when the one child policy had just started. The only child became the apple of the entire family. Their parents and grandparents would generously spend more to make these small “kings” and “queens” healthy instead of spending on themselves. However, what they could buy in the market was rather limited. Zong saw the opportunity to produce milk drinks which were not common in China but were deemed as healthy, particularly for kids. Using the campus as his first testing ground, he started a business with two retired teachers and borrowed 140 000 Yuan (about $17,000 at that time; Yang, 2004)…
