What Happiness Means to Me
Dictionaries describe happiness as a state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Though this definition is true, I believe that there are many different levels of happiness that can be portrayed.
One type of happiness that really pops out in my mind would be past accomplishments. The day I graduated high school was so fulfilling. Graduation was an important step in my life as it is with many others. Knowing that all the hard work and dedication towards my future had finally paid off was a feeling that I had not yet experienced. School is hard and sometimes disappointing, but to know that I made it through a major step with flying colors and also attaining a scholarship for college made me feel so happy. What an achievement. This step in my life was a true accomplishment. I am proud.
A couple years back I was blessed to go on vacation with my friend to Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio. This park is one of the best when it comes to roller coasters, and fortunately, I happen to be a roller coaster aficionado. Cedar Point added its 16th roller coaster in 2003, Top Thrill Dragster. This steel screamer debuted as the tallest, 420 ft, fastest, 120 mph, roller coaster in the world. Top Thrill Dragster literally took my breath away! That first drop was so exciting, so thrilling, that I was just completely overwhelmed with happiness. The ride was so smooth it was like you were just flying. I never thought I would experience such an amazing rush of adrenaline.
Another example of happiness would be love. No matter who you are, life is always happier if you are loved. I know when someone tells me that they love me or even when I say I love you to someone, the emotion is just fantastic and it makes me feel safe and secure. Being a well-know beautiful actress would be nice, being the wealthiest woman in the world would be nice, being a successful businesswoman would be nice, but...
