West Side Story Is A Romantic Movie And
West Side Story is a romantic movie and an adaption of the classic romantic tragedy “Romeo and Juliet”. The movie is about two different gangs which hate each other. The white Jets, who consider themselves as Native American and the Puerto Rican Sharks. These two gangs earn a connection when Tony from the Jets falls for Maria from the Sharks.
Tony and Maria struggled for their strong and forbidden love. But the hatred that the families had blinded them and no one saw their beautiful love. No one believed in the love between these star crossed lovers. But I did, because the only thing that made them struggle was their love. Even though their love was forbidden they didn’t stop making plans for their future. From the movie we learn that hatred can destroy everything even love. This movie is not only great for its wonderful story but also for the great dance and vocal performances. Tony and Maria are a modern version of Romeo and Juliet. And this fact makes us understand that the problem of discrimination is actual even nowadays.
To sum up, this movie touched my heart and made me think how bad discrimination is and how much equality matters. And it proved me that you never chose whom you can love. I learned that no matter how much hate your environment has you need to answer to hate with even greater love.

The movie was very powerful just to learn about hate crime and how it attracted a lot of attention from media as well as public all over the world due to his tragic death. Matthew was the type of person that was very approachable and always put his family and friends first. Even though the death of Matthew Shepard was undeserved I definitely think that some good has come out of it because it made people realize how much violence and hatred there in the world and what it can turn into. This tragedy helped the nation wake up to the fact that hate and discrimination still lives in our communities, schools and families. Mr. Dennis Shepard gave speech in tribute to his son Matthew brought tears in my eyes. I was able to connect and engage to that moment. That moment touched me so much that I couldn’t stop crying.…

Two feuding families in the old city of Verona, and two rival gangs in New York’s West Side; what could these two scenarios possibly have in common?
