COURSE DESCRIPTION
A survey of the major topic of sex education with emphasis placed on: sexual development, functioning, behavior, gender identification, reproduction, interpersonal relationships, health, historical and cultural sex studies, and sex education.
(No prerequisites; Also offered as PSY 255.)
LEARNING GOALS/OUTCOMES
• Identify sexuality as a base for the formation of sound attitudes so as to feel comfortable about one’s own sexuality.
• Explain the role of sexuality in one’s own life and in society and its contribution as a positive force to the full development of personality.
• Identify the many fields and disciplines which are contributing to the understanding of sexuality.
• Compile a variety of reliable sources for sex education information.
• Identify services and organizations available for counseling.
