Watching a Movie at Home vs. Theater
Movies are one of the biggest entertainment sources for anyone in the world, and for the same reason film industry is the largest of any industries with India making the most number of movies per year than any other country. People watch movies at home on their television or in the theaters on a big screen where the film is been displayed with a movie projector onto a large projection screen at the front of the auditorium. Watching a movie at home or in theater is an enjoyable experience for everyone depending on personal preferences.

In a theater, one can watch movies as soon as they are released without having to wait until they are released on a DVD or shown on a local television channel. At the same time, watching a movie in a theater is an expensive deal. One pays a lot more money to buy a ticket than to watch it at home in a group. Purchasing a movie that is more expensive than purchasing a theater ticket.

One does not have to deal with commercial breaks in between the movies in a theater, but a television telecast of the same movie is always full of lots of frequent advertisements. For those who like to take breaks between the movies, this could be a good thing because this gives them time to freshen up or find out about products available in the market via the commercials. In a theater one does not have that choice; if one leave in between the movie to freshen up, one might miss a good and critical scene of the movie. This is often annoying for other people too who get disturbed because of someone’s movements in the aisle.

The sound quality and picture quality of a movie in theater is usually better than a home television, and for some people watching a movie in a big group is always more fun than watching it in a secluded environment at home. One can plan watching a movie at the theater whenever they want, but one cannot decide to watch their favorite movie at home

How has product placement came to be such an important factor on television and in the movies today? Why is it that when we are watching a movie, we see all of these random products we’re familiar with? Product placement began in the nineteenth century. It has been used more and more ever since. Product placement is quite frequently used in just about every movie that has came out and every TV show that has aired in the 21st century. “Increasingly, product placement in the multibillion dollar movie industry has become an important advertising medium” (Arens, Weigold 544). Over two-thirds of advertisers use product placement. It is very common that we, the people who are watching, notice these products being shown, and many…

First, you get to go straight to the movie, no waiting through previews of movies you do not care about. When you want to watch a movie, you just pop the disk in and press play and you are good to go. Next, you get a lot of privacy watching it at home. There are no unknown people and in turn no weird habits to be on the look out for. You also get to pick the best seats in the house, no arguing with anyone. There is no pressure to look presentable since no one can see you. You could wear pajamas, have your hair up, and no makeup nonacid face no judgments. Finally, there is almost no cost to watching a movie at home. Nowadays you can rent almost all the newly released films from your local Redbox for one dollar and buy a box of popcorn for about $3. You can get everything you need for a great movie night for less than $5! With that math, you could have eight great movie nights for the cost of one sub-par movie date in the theaters. Overall the home viewing experience is far greater than a theater viewing…

A theater such as Colossus is reasonably priced, offers cheap Tuesdays, as well as membership cards where discounts are given for the frequent movie-theater goers. Size of the movie theater also plays a roll in attracting more customers. Colossus is a giant theater, so it can support the high traffic volume without keeping people waiting too long. (Moore, 2013) Some theaters are to small and can not handle the demand, thus forcing people to go somewhere else because they do not want to wait in line. This also has to do with customer service. The movie theater process is supposed to be simple. The customer walks in, buys a ticket, receives food, watches the movie, and then leaves. When customer service…
