1.1 About this document
Nature
EU legislation requires the competent authority in each Member State to
draw up one or more waste management plans in accordance with relevant
EU directives. Applying the principles of these directives when implementing
a national waste management system is the responsibility of each individual
Member State. As such, waste management planning has become a
permanent element in public planning efforts in all EU Member States.
