Determine if the benefits of free trade outweigh the drawbacks, and what could be done to address the drawbacks (if anything).

In my opinion I feel that Free Trade is trend instead of a fad free trade promotes innovation and competition of all sources of goods and products. Look at the people in U.S today not many of us sew our clothes, grow our own food, build our own houses, or buy only products made in their own states. It takes too much money and too much of our time, especially since we have an open market that we can acquire all these items with ease.  It makes economic sense to buy a product from another who specializes in such production or who can make it more easily or for less cost. Not only has free trade generated economic growth, but it has fostered opportunities for American businesses, free trade rewards risk-taking by increasing sales, profit margins, and market share. Companies can choose to build on those profits by expanding their operations, entering new market sectors, and creating better-paying jobs. The drawbacks of free trade I can think of are that there would be an increase of competition, unemployment, Corporate Restructuring, and economic underdevelopment. All these issues can be addressed by having set regulations laws that are fair to both parties and is still able to bring profit to each country.

State whether you believe fair trade is a fad or a trend. Provide support for your reasons.

Fair trade is a steady trend because it focus on exports from countries that have notably handicrafts, coffee, cocoa, sugar, tea, bananas, honey, cotton, wine, fresh fruit,  Chocolate, flowers and gold.
