Have you ever been to Manhattan New, York, or heard about how large it is? Well, imagine two manhattan’s, and you still don’t compare in size of the Walt Disney World Resort. Located in Central Florida, the Walt Disney World resort encompasses 47 square miles, 28,000 acres, and is located in two-separate counties. It massive size makes WDW the largest single-site employer in the world, with over 62, 000 employees working on-property. Meaning, if you take the entire undergrad population of WMU, CMU & EMU you still fall short a thousand or two on the staff needed to run WDW. But Im not here to talk about its size, more specifically WDW is best known for these three reasons. One, It is home to many of the worlds’ top theme parks. Two, its resort hotels provides Disney guest with unique themed living accommodations. And Three, you have the opportunity to literately eat around the world at its various top notch dinning locations. TANSITION: With that said, let me begin by talking about the theme parks. According to over five online sources, ALL four of Walt Disney World’s Theme Parks were among the top 10 most visited theme-parks in the world for the calendar year of 2010, and is expected to remain within the top 10 for 2011 as well. The four theme parks: Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park each offer a different experience for Disney Guest to enjoy. * MK opened in October of 1971, being the larger younger sister to its sister park Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
