Volleyball
Here is your essay on Volleyball !
Volleyball is a team game which has six players that play on either side of the net. A set of rules decide the score that each team is able to make against the other team. The game begins with a player from one team throwing the ball using hand or arm over the net so that the opposite team can receive it on their court.
The basic rule is to prevent the received ball from hitting the ground so that it can be thrown back to the other team with up to 3 touches from the team. A foul happens if one person from the team touches the ball more than twice (double-hit) while it’s on their side of the net. Also, a team scores a point by throwing the call across the net to the other team’s side such that it hits the ground directly or the player fails to send it back over the net.
Thus there are basically two ways to score a point-a) one is by throwing the ball on the ground of the opponent team passing over the net b) another is if the opponent team is unable to render the ball back into the court of serving team.
Volleyball is played in different variations in different parts. There are some rules for the serve in the game of volleyball. 1) The ball has to be served underhand or overhand. 2) The player who serves the ball must stand behind the end line on his/her side of the court while making the serve.3) the served ball must cross the net and reach the opponent side. 4) The ball has to be clearly visible to the opponent team.
Similarly there are rules for rotation. 1) Teams change sides as the other team wins the serve.2) Clockwise rotation of the players happens
The minimum number of players on each side for a game is 4 while the maximum is 6. Indoor and outdoor are two variations of volleyball game. Outdoor volleyball is also played as beach volleyball on the beach. Indoor volleyball has six players in each team while beach volleyball has even two persons in each team.
Here are some things to avoid when playing the game:

There are two major materials that are used to make a volleyball. The most significant one is faux or synthetic leather, most volleyballs are made out of this. It offers a good grip but isn’t too heavy or rough, such as a basketball. Many people find real leather ethically wrong so they choose synthetic leather. Synthetic leather is also a lot cheaper and easier to manufacture.…

William G. Morgan created volleyball in 1895 as a YMCA P.E. director in the town of Holyoke, Massachusetts.. It was first called mintonette. The name came from the game called badminton. Mintonette, later known as volleyball, took certain things from tennis and handball and was designed to be an indoor sport. The game was intended to be better on a person’s body than basketball and was aimed more towards the older members of the YMCA while still requiring athletic ability. The first rules included a net that was 6 ft 6 tall, a court that was 25 ft by 50 ft big, and any number of players on the court at any given time.…

During a game, the overall objective is to eliminate every member of the opposing team. Opponents will throw the ball at the opposing team in order to hit them and therefore eliminate them from play. However, the ball cannot touch the ground at all before it hits a member of the opposing team or it does not count and the player remains in the game. Also, if the player were to catch the ball being thrown, then the player that threw that ball is eliminated…

A player couldn't run with the ball. The player threw it from the spot that he caught it, allowing for a man running at good speed to catch the ball. Next, the ball was held in or between the hands. No shouldering, holding, pushing, striking or tripping of an opponent was allowed in any way. The first person to break this rule received a foul and the second would disqualify him until the next goal is made or, if there was proof of wanting to injure the person, they were disqualified for the whole game and no substitution was allowed. If either team had three consecutive fouls, it would be counted as a goal for the opposite team. A goal was made when the ball was thrown or batted from the ground, into the baskets and stayed there. When the ball was thrown out of bounds, it was thrown into the field and played by the first person that touched it. When this happened, the player was given five seconds to get it to one of his teammates before the ball was turned over to the opposite team. If there was a dispute about who got the ball, the umpire would throw it straight into the field. The umpire was the judge of the men and noted the player’s fouls and notified the referee when three consecutive fouls were made. The umpire also had the power to disqualify any players according to above rules. The game was played with two fifteen-minute halves with a five minute rest in between. Whichever team had the most goals made at the end of the game…

    · After making a ‘touch’, the defending team has to go backward behind an imaginary ‘defensive’ line, approximately five metres away from where the touch has been made; the referee will show you where they expect you to be. The ball carrier has to perform a ‘rollball’, on the exact mark where the ‘touch’ was made. Be careful not to be ‘over the mark’ when performing a roll ball.…

For a throw in to occur the ball must go out of bounds on wither sideline on the pitch. To take a throw in both feet must stay on the ground and the person must throw the ball with both hands over their head. Another rule is if the ball goes out of bounds on either team’s goal line a corner kick is taken. A corner kick is taken by placing the ball on the corner, which the ball was closest to when it went out. A player can also tackle a person that has possession of the ball, but the player tackling must come in contact with the ball before hitting the player with the ball. Also if a foul occurs in the penalty box, which is a box that stretches from the goal eighteen yards long and forty-four yards wide there is a penalty kick, which means the ball is placed in a marked spot twelve yards away from the goal. Another rule is a player can be offside if they are behind the other teams last defender, (not including the goalie). Also the ball is placed for the team not receiving the foul where the player was called…
