Vogue Analysis

Vogue magazine is a high end fashion and lifestyle magazine. On the front cover I can tell that the issue is based on the seasons latest trends ‘autumn’s essentials’ and an article on the singer Adele due to the big image of her and the anchorage text; ‘Adoring Adele’. There are also a few different puff highlighting articles on other celebrities such as Amy Childs, Jane Birkin, Wendi Murdoch and the fashion designer Azzedine Alaia.
The target audience for Vogue magazine is middleclass young women or anyone who has a passion for fashion and interested in celebrity lifestyles. The magazine is using an image of the singer Adele with a direct mode of address; Vogue has used a direct mode of address because they want a personal relationship with Adele and the reader. She looks soft and innocent, this links with the anchorage text.
On the front cover of this magazine is a picture of Adele. This is because she is one of the rising stars of today’s generation, and she has a lot of fans.
The anchorage text is ‘Adoring Adele’ and this implies that the article inside on Adele is sweet and touching because of the word ‘Adoring’. The overall message that the subject of Adele is giving is that anyone can become worldwide just like her because a part of the anchorage text is ‘hometown girl goes global’
There are not many ‘buzz’ words on the front cover but there is ‘autumn’s essentials’ the word ‘essentials’ makes the reader want or feel that they need the products that the magazine is saying they need.
The title block is quite delicate and classy with tells me that the magazine is aimed at middle class, sophisticated women.
The ‘puffs’ tells the reader that there would be some celebrity articles/interviews and some articles on fashion and style, this suggests that the magazine’s audience would be the type to be interested in fashion, lifestyle and some celebrity gossip. There are some puffs on fashion tips assuming that the reader is concerned about
