For some it’s a style of life and they can’t do without regular physical exercise, and for others it’s a doctor’s obligation out of bad health condition. But anyway it’s really important for everyone. It can really help to improve the way you feel and think. This can be especially important if you are going through a tough time – or recovering from one.
There are some vital things about it if you want to stay in a good fit as long as it possible and here they are:
1. Keeping active
Being physically active improves your strength, fitness, and confidence, which can help you to achieve what you want in life. It gives you more energy and increases your flexibility and mobility. Being active can help you to handle stress, manage anger and sleep better. There are many different ways you can get active and finding a way that suits you is important. You may enjoy walking, running, dancing, surfing, going to the gym, playing a team sport or swimming. Try a few different things so you don’t get bored. Whatever exercise you do, there are plenty of benefits.
Everyone has a different level of fitness, and you should always work up at a pace that’s right for you. If you’re not used to being active, start gradually. Exercising with a friend makes it more fun and helps you to stay motivated.
2. Eating well
Eating well means having a wide variety of healthy foods including plenty of vegetables, fruit and cereals (like bread, rice and pasta), some lean meat, chicken or fish, dairy products (milk, yoghurt, cheese) and lots of water. It’s a good idea to avoid fatty foods and foods with lots of sugar in them. In general, eating a nourishing diet can improve your overall sense of well-being. Plus to it it’s a good idea to cook on your own and you don’t have to snack on junk food.

Hey McKenna, I think we are both along the same thought process, and especially when it comes to agreeing with Dr. Skinner. I too thought that in order to reach the product of being fit, you first need to be physically active. In addition to that, if someone has not been very active at all and yet they jump right into fitness routines, it could prove to be problematic. In particular, I like how you mentioned that without warming up or cooling down, you can perhaps get injured. I agree with that, and in one of my former classes, which was entitled, Preventative Athletic Injuries; I learned how much of an injury prevention warm-up…
