Vicegerency
INTRODUCTION
Man created by Allah S.W.T. with purpose. The purpose that we clearly see is to be the Khalifah (vicegerent). Man are not created only to serve and worship Allah S.W.T. but to take action according to guidance and instruction by Him. Khalifah originated from root word Khalafa, means to succeed or to replace a person due either to his absence, or his incompetence, or his death, or as honour for the successor.
Allah S.W.T. says:

“We have honoured the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of our creation.”
Al-Quran English Translation (Al-Isra’, 17:70)-Yusuf Ali
Allah S.W.T. has planned to execute vicegerency through Adam. Adam a’layhissalam was sent to the earth to establish it. The Muslim Ummah which had the vicegerency on the earth lost it because of so called ignorance, negligence and division. Lack of research and knowledge of modern science and technology has worsened the situation further. The revival of the vicegerency and, hence, the glory of Islam only depend on accepting and progressing in the knowledge of the modern sciences and technologies with a perfect blend of Islamic spirituality. Allah, The Almighty, has best towed human beings with a status and honour, besides all other status, of His vicegerent on earth.
Allah S.W.T. says:

“It is He Who hath made you (His) agents, inheritors of the earth: He hath raised you in ranks, some above others: that He may try you in the gifts He hath given you: for thy Lord is quick in punishment: yet He is indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.”Al-Quran English Translation (Al-An’am, 06:165)-Yusuf Ali)
There are some essentials to be the crown of His vicegerent on Adam and his children. If they abandon it, then the concept the caliphate on earth will be a fiction only. First of all, we have to determine that the lawful right to enjoy the caliphate of earth is of the

“… if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins” (Mark 12:25 NIV). God is expected to forgive his creations, and humans, in their constant struggle to emulate God, follow his teachings. And just as God’s mercy is described as prevailing over his wrath, so in Islam, human to human forgiveness is associated with the control of one’s anger. In fact, one of the characteristics of the Islamic Believer is that “…when they are angry they forgive.” (al-Shura 42:37) Muslims are encouraged to reflect on their own imperfections, and God’s forgiveness for our mistakes, as a reason to offer forgiveness in turn to their fellow humans. Forgiveness among humans is given a high societal value for its ability to heal wounds and promote reconciliation. A similar ideology is expressed in Buddhism, as reflected by the teachings in the Dhammapada. “He abused me, he struck me, he overcame me, he robbed me’ — in those who harbor such thoughts hatred will never cease. ‘He abused me, he struck me, he overcame me, he robbed me’ — in those who do not harbor such thoughts hatred will cease.” Dhammapada…

We all may have asked ourselves this question. Who made us? What is our purpose? Well we find in Genesis, God created Adam and Eve. Adam was created first, showing that God wants the man to be the leader of the household. Then God made Eve from the rib of Adam, signifying that woman is to be the helper or support to the man. Ultimately, when you are married, you are to be united as one. Genesis 2:18-25. We are created in the image of God, which means we are to be like God and serve God for His purpose. Scripture tells us that everything we do, we are doing it for the Lord, 1 Corinthians 10:31.…
