In the time and day which we live in, rules are extremely vital to maintain proper comportment and smooth function of state and its people. Crime, be it major such as murder, robbery, cyber-crime etc. or be it minor, is all around us. Accidents are caused due to different means like road mishaps etc. So as it is evident, it is indispensible to have a body of law which sets up a set of moral and technical rules to which the citizens have to bind. But there are many cases in which law violation becomes necessary or to a certain extent, justified.
As human beings, the greatest gift to our advantage is the ability to judge between right and wrong. We have the strength to analyse a situation morally and socially, considering all its facets and consequences. So, there might be situations in which we are required to follow and strictly abide to certain rules and regulations. But there can be emergencies or situations which are out of hand, which require an instantaneous action, causing a violation of a particularly stated law. Hence, a mechanical or rather, robotic analysis or judgement of the situation can lead to a fallacious decision.
For example, the traffic rules are to be followed under all circumstances. Of course, an ambulance is pardoned as it carries patients with medical emergencies. Consider a situation with an extremely delicate medical emergency. It is not always wise to wait for the ambulance. In this case, a private vehicle might exceed speed limit, break through traffic signals etc. We need to empathise with the people involved.
Generally in large stores there is a behemoth of a line to purchase the required items. As a rule, one cannot break in or rush to the front. But even in a case of an emergency if the person has to take a token and wait for his number to be announced, it’s really sad.
