Professional Values and Ethics Paper
We will express different opinions explaining professional values and ethics, and will discuss how there are values in professional and personal lives, and ethics in the media to establish career success. The relationships among professional values, ethics, and career success are no longer important in today’s society. Most people in the media field have sexual affairs in which no one believes in values and ethics, but advancements in career success.
Several sources of professional values and ethics established in society, and each source is useful depending on the situation. The law is one source of values and ethics created to protect basic human rights. The following are some of the professional environments in which laws can be found and applied, schools, churches, and the workplace. The judiciary system established laws to bring justice for all.
“Values are beliefs that will guide our thoughts and actions. We develop these values from our family, friends, culture, and environment. In a sense, our values are our philosophy of life” (Duncan & De Pew, 2005). Therefore, values instilled in each individual may vary greatly. Some of the circumstances that cause differences in values and ethics may be ethnicity, religion, political views, and personal background.
In an effort to protect the public, federal laws often completed by professional values. All the time the media portrays different values in someone professional and personal lives instead of protecting the public. The media portrays that values are not important to have negatives affects on personal and professional lives instead of positives affects.
