VALUE CHAIN OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS Report of “UPS Lithuania”
VALUE CHAIN OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
Report of “UPS Lithuania”

We decided to rate UPS as a plant, since we have not seen its` warehouse and how it works.
So talking about customer satisfaction (Category No.1) in UPS we think that they really care about this aspect and it is their main goal in the company. If customer has special needs for the package that he wants to send, UPS employees will not hesitate to contact him and try to find the best solution for both parts. All the employees know what goes after what, from this point where the package will go next. They do accept visitors and provide all the information about the company and they even offer coffee and snacks together with it.
We haven`t noticed ratings of customer satisfaction displayed, but this maybe the reason because we haven`t seen all the rooms in the office and also this may be caused that many of the job is done by employees outside the office building (taking packages from plane to cars, then delivering them and etc.). For this category we rate them with 9.
2. The office facility looked safe and clean. The other part of the company, which they do the loading is situated in the airport. It is convenient because they have their own planes, so it easy for them to load and unload packages. To enter this area we have been checked with metal detectors and everyone who is in this area must wear special reflector vest. There is only one entrance to the area, so any other person could enter this high safety area.
All the packages have special labeling, which helps for the company to control and track them. When a plane, full of packages lands to Kaunas` airport from Warsaw, all the packages are grouped by their destination, with the help of the labels on them. So it is very important to make them correct and clear all the time. For this category we rate them with 9, because it is hard to keep big airport area safe, but they manage it.
3. All the information about current state of the package
