ICT report pc specification
a) Based on your hobby/project to briefly describe the ways in which the computer would be used (you are not to use more than 600 words for this). You should for example discuss the types of programs/packages that will be used.

The computer will be used for study reasons and also to watch films, due to having a budget to maintain I felt it would have been expensive to put together a computer for multimedia and gaming purposes. Therefore I will be working closely with the budget and inspecting every component price.
A computer system consists of hardware and software. Hardware is the equipment, which makes up the computer system. The Hardware will consists of Input devices such as keyboard and mouse, also output devices such as a monitor and backing storage devices such as CD drive, DVD drive. The hardware that I will use is: Mouse, Keyboard and Monitor. The internal component will consist of a motherboard, RAM, CPU, Hard disk, Power supply and graphics/video card.
Not a single component of the computer system or a separate device will be pre-prepared for. The entire computer will be built from scratch upon the recommendation of those hardware devices that are necessary to the task. I will specify the components for the computer system which I will acquire a base unit and all internal components, a mouse and keyboard also any external CD or DVD drive needed for the system. I will also need to buy a monitor and a legal operating system. However I will not have to include external devices such as scanners, printers, USB memory sticks etc. Also I won’t have to include any software e.g. Microsoft Words, Photoshop other than an operating system.
Besides the components that are required the computer will be used for project reasons, an indication of the types of programs/ packaging used to complete the task will include an operating system like Microsoft windows or Mac. In computing, an operating system is the system software

    How to Build a Computer

The Computer this day and age is coming to its peak as the module for the super information high way. I have noticed rising prices for the personal computer as sold from the common dealers such as Dell, Gateway and Macintosh. These overly priced computers are a rip, ranging anywhere from 999.99 to 1,300.00 dollars. This is outrageous; the pieces needed to build a computer are so inexpensive these days it would be idiotic not to build it yourself. The increased demand for computers has inflated the price of a tailor made computer that large companies make nearly 50 percent profits from each computer they make. I understand that the only thing stopping people from making their own computer is the "know how" of putting the parts together, like it takes some kind of bachelors in computer engineering to manifest a computer. But I reassure you it doesn't.…

When building a computer you want to start with a motherboard and make sure that all of the components are compatible with the motherboard as you go. A good choice for a motherboard for my house would be the “ROG - Maximus V Extreme Desktop Motherboard” it is optimized for gaming and with 4boys and a girl that seems to be the only thing that the desktops in my house do. Being such a high performance motherboard the Maximus can support up to 32G of RAM so that is exactly what I will be purchasing. 4 Corsair - Vengeance 2-Pack 4GB DDR3 DIMM Desktop Memory Kits should do the trick and even these ram chips are designed for gaming efficiency. Games take up a lot of memory space and that’s one thing that you need to keep in mind when building a custom gaming desktop, 1 Terabyte or more is recommended. The Western Digital Internal Hard Drive is perfect for the job and is easily compatible with all of our other components. Reading games at high speed and still being extremely accurate with the transfer of data is no simple task so you need a DVD drive that is up to the task, ASUS 24X DVD Burner is a great choice and it should fit easily into and run of the mill computer tower. Now for probably the most important part of any gaming setup and probably the most expensive part the graphics card, but for our purposes we will be going for a better than average yet still economical graphics card the NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 660 Express 3.0 Graphics Card, NVIDIA Is one of the best names in graphics cards and in gaming setups period. I would buy a flat screen LCD monitor Acer - T-Series 23" Widescreen Flat-Panel IPS LCD HD Monitor for better vision and clarity it also saves space. As for a keyboard I would buy a Razer - TRON Gaming Keyboard. One it looks really cool and my kids would love it and two it has built in gaming controls. Next I would get a mouse but a gaming mouse and for it I chose Razer - Naga Hex Wraith Red MOBA/Action-RPG Laser Gaming Mouse - Red/Black. For my final…

    Build your first Computer

When building a computer you have to make sure you have the right parts. The best thing to do is to order your parts from the internet from your website of choice. The first part you need is a case. The case is the easiest part to choose, I would go with just a standard computer ATX case. Next you need a motherboard, make sure your mother board fits in your case. To make sure see what size it is when purchasing. The sizes are micro ATX, and ATX. If you have an ATX case get an ATX motherboard and vice versa. Next you will need a CPU. The CPU is the part you should spend the most money on; anything around the 100-200 dollar mark is more than enough. Next get 8 gigabytes of RAM. After that you need to choose a hard drive and disk drive. These two parts are cheap, so make sure you don’t pay too much. The next part you need is a GPU. This should be the thing you spend a lot of money on, as well as your CPU. Next buy your OS, I would recommend windows 7. Now that you have the parts you are ready to put the computer together.…

While I have many needs for a computer, I think there are a few things that I would need in a computer if I were to shop for one today. First, I would need the Home premium version of Microsoft Windows 7, so that I can use Windows Media center to play music and watch videos and stream Netflix through my computer. Another important item I would have to have is Microsoft office 2010. I would of course need this for typing papers for school and completing homework assignments for this class, I would just need the standard version. For leisure, I like to use the computer to play video games and record music. So I would like a computer with a good video card, and enough RAM to support recording programs with linear and non linear editing programs (AcidFX, Cool Edit, etc.) It would also have to come with Norton Antivirus so that I can help protect my files while using the computer. I would also like a good sized flat screen monitor, a printer and basic speakers. I set a budget of $1,200 for my new PC, but less would be preferred.…
