How to start up the database

1.Insert the database CD to the CD/DVD drive, and then copy the database onto the desktop, and double click the database icon on the desktop.

2.Enter PIN number to start the database. You will find the PIN number enclosed on the CD.



3.The main menu of Jade¡¦s Beauty Salon¡¦s database comes up like the picture shown below. The switchboard includes: appointment menu, customers menu, employee menu, treatment menu and print reports.



Appointment Menu



Enter into the appointment menu by clicking on the left hand side square button, you can either create a new appointment record or search for appointments info by different criteria.  

1. Create new appointment record: click on ¡¥add appointment¡¦ „³ fill in all the information required„³click on ¡¥next¡¦ to add another new record„³ click ¡¥exit¡¦ to go back to the ¡¥appointment menu¡¦. (NB: if it is a new customer, before you create a new appointment record, you must go to customer menu to create a new customer record first.)
2. View all appointments: you can view all the information relating to the appointments available on the database.
3. Search:
By surname: click on the square button„³enter one customer¡¦s surname, you can view all the appointments related to the surname and check how many appointments made under the same surname.

By date and time: click on the square button„³enter one appointment date (dd/mm/yy)„³enter appointment time (hh:mm), you can check if there is an appointment made at specific time of the day.

By date: click on the square button„³enter one appointment date, you can view all the appointments made on the date you entered and check how many appointments made on the date.

Customers Menu



Enter into the customers menu, you can check all the customers¡¦ details on the database, create new customer records, and search for customer details by different criteria.
